2. Collection and Storage of Personal Data, as well as the Type and Purpose of Its Use

a) When Visiting the Website
When you visit our website www.meliorate.de, the browser on your device automatically sends information to the server of our website. This information is temporarily stored in a log file. The following information is collected without your intervention and is stored until automated deletion:
  • IP address of the requesting computer
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the retrieved file
  • Website from which the access occurs (Referrer-URL)
  • Browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer and the name of your access provider
The data mentioned will be processed by us for the following purposes:
  • Ensuring a smooth connection setup to the website
  • Ensuring comfortable use of our website
  • Evaluating system security and stability, and
  • For other administrative purposes.
The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f DSGVO. Our legitimate interest follows from the purposes of data collection listed above. In no case do we use the collected data to draw conclusions about your identity.

Additionally, we use cookies when you visit our website. More details are provided under section 4 of this privacy policy.

b) When Subscribing to Our Newsletter
If you have explicitly consented in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a DSGVO, we will use your email address to send you our newsletter on a regular basis. Providing an email address is sufficient for receiving the newsletter.

You can unsubscribe at any time, for example, by clicking a link at the end of each newsletter. Alternatively, you can send your unsubscription request to information@meliorate.de by email.

c) When Registering for Our Events
We process the personal data provided during the registration, including first name, last name, position/department, company, email address, and phone number, to organize the event and ensure participants’ attendance. This also includes listing the names of participants, their company details, and current professional positions in a participant directory, which may be shared with other event participants (possibly in electronic form). Before the event, we provide name tags for the participants. Additionally, we use the provided contact details to send event-related materials to the contractual partner, usually through the participant, after the event.
The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b) DSGVO.
Personal data collected during registration, which is not used for advertising purposes, will be deleted once the processing purpose no longer applies, unless there are legal retention periods.
We may process personal data (email address, phone number, postal address) provided during registration for our own advertising purposes if you have not objected to such use of your data. This also applies to objections made by the participant themselves. The processing of personal data for advertising purposes is based on our legitimate interest in processing personal data for direct marketing purposes (see Recital 47 DSGVO) pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO or based on consent under Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO, if such consent has been requested.

The contractual partner and the participant may object to this use at any time, with effect for the future, in writing to the contact details provided. In case of withdrawal, the personal data of the contractual partner and/or participant will be deleted from the relevant database.

3. Data Transfer

We will not transfer your personal data to third parties for any purposes other than those listed below.
We will only pass on your personal data to third parties if:
  • You have given your explicit consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a DSGVO,
  • The transfer is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims, and there is no reason to believe that you have a prevailing legitimate interest in not disclosing your data,
  • There is a legal obligation to transfer the data pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c DSGVO, or
  • The transfer is legally permissible and required for the processing of contractual relationships with you pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b DSGVO.

4. Cookies

We use cookies on our site. These are small files automatically created by your browser and stored on your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our site. Cookies do not harm your device and do not contain viruses, Trojans, or other malware.
Cookies store information specific to the device used, but this does not mean we directly learn your identity.
Cookies are used to make your use of our services more pleasant. For example, we use session cookies to recognize that you have already visited certain pages of our website. These are automatically deleted when you leave our site.
Additionally, we use temporary cookies for optimizing user convenience. These are stored for a certain period on your device and help us recognize your previous visits to avoid asking for the same information again.

Social Media Plug-ins

We use social plug-ins from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Xing on our website based on Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f DSGVO to promote our company. The legitimate interest underlying the advertising purpose is considered a legitimate interest under the DSGVO.

7. Rights of the Data Subject

You have the right:
  • To request information about your personal data processed by us, pursuant to Art. 15 DSGVO
  • To request correction or completion of incorrect personal data, pursuant to Art. 16 DSGVO
  • To request deletion of your personal data under certain circumstances, pursuant to Art. 17 DSGVO
  • To request restriction of processing, pursuant to Art. 18 DSGVO
  • To obtain a copy of the data provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, pursuant to Art. 20 DSGVO
You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, pursuant to Art. 7 para. 3 DSGVO.

7. Right to Object

If your personal data is processed based on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to processing, as per Art. 21 DSGVO.
